Last year, completely unexpectedly, my wife of 37 years felt she needed to end our relationship and left. I was completely devastated and sought Deon’s help in firstly understanding the issues that had caused the problem and secondly what strategies I could use to try to reconcile the relationship. I have always been able to fix problems in my life myself and my initial intent was to chase after her and sort things out.
Deon was calm and empathetic and initially did a lot of listening. Once he had a full understanding of the situation he was able to give sound advice about the best way to approach things and helped me understand what was needed from my wife’s perspective, in particular about space and time. I followed Deon’s advice exactly at each step of the way and my wife and I are now back together. I know, and my wife has confirmed, that had I not sought help and followed Deon’s advice we would not together today.

I would like to personally recommend Deon Wessels. He has taken me on a journey which started by learning to cope with a slower, less productive pace of life, medically enforced due to a head injury. It was frustrating and anxiety provoking at first but over a period of many months, Deon gave me the tools to not only cope but thrive out of the situation and learn to live a more mindful life. His holistic approach only become 100% clear to me near the end of our time together. It's amazing how he looks at the whole person and into the many facets of what make me who I am to find new pathways forward. Thank you many times Deon, for your guidance through this somewhat difficult period in my life! I have been set free.

I have had a great counselling experience with Deon Wessels of Holistic Counselling.  I came in initially for issues related to work and ended up learning a great deal about myself and how to deal with a myriad of situations and problems that had been affecting me for most of my adult life.  Now my job is much more manageable with less stress and I have even received a promotion for the proactive and engaging way I am going about my work.  My home life is also very fulfilling as I navigate fatherhood and realise that I can use the same methods of appreciating myself and realising how effective I actually have been throughout my life to keep my stress minimal so that I can give more to my son and my wife.  Many thanks for helping me better understand myself.

I worked with Deon for 9months and found him to be incredibly supportive and engaging. Deon helped me to over-come a number of barriers throughout our sessions and to open my mind to a new format of thinking. I found Deon to be extremely professional and warm at the same time, a real gift in client-counsellor relationship. Deon allowed me to be my true self at my own pace and without him I wouldn’t be in the mindset that I am today. I am so very grateful that Deon was flexible with his time and helped me work through past and present issues, I found my sessions very valuable – I have seen a number of counsellors over the years but none as effective as Deon, he enabled me to be productive in encouraged our sessions and gave me tools to carry with me for my future. Without Deon’s work ethic, skills and patience I would not feel as safe and as happy in my steps forward. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I just wanted to pass on my thanks to you for everything.  I've found your manner incredibly empathetic and understanding.  I don't quite know how I would have survived the last few months without being in such great hands.  I quite honestly believed I was going crazy. While the grief we feel for the loss of my sister will be a much longer process; I do know recovery is just within reach.

I do look forward to getting back to my professional life and the study I have planned - I have really learned a lot from your kind manner. I hope I can be as empathetic to those that cross my path in the future.
